21. Januar 2021 (09:18 Uhr)

Hello Anthony Le Duey,
in preview to Powerman Alsdorf in August 2021, we would like to introduce our athletes and get to know them:

Please, introduce yourself and highlight some important moments/successes as athlete.
Hi, I am Anthony Le Duey. I am 47 years old and I am an elite duathlete for 20 years so far. Regarding my major successes, I won the European Championships in duathlon twice, I am a 6 times French champion and got 2 bronze medals at Powerman Zofingen at the Duathlon Long Distance World Championships.

How did you become a duathlete?
I played soccer until the age of 19, then I tried triathlon during my sport studies. It turned out that I had some talent as I won French age group race in 1998 and elite race in 2000. That's how I got into triathlon and duathlon

From your personal perspective, what is special about the run-bike-run format of Powerman World Series?
The 10/60/10 powerman format is a great deal between run and bike time trial. You need a decent run at the beginning in order to get in a good position during for the bike race. Your bike performance is just as important as the first run in order to compete well. The second run really depends on your biking performance and how much you have left. It is a great and honest challenge!

How often did you compete at Powerman Alsdorf and what is you personal highlight of this particular race?
Powerman Alsdorf is a very good event directed by a professionnal team. It was a winter race in April 2019 but a heartwarming welcome. For sure, in August, weather will be better so I am really looking forward to be there!

Have you participated in any other Powerman World Series races? If so, what is your „don’t-miss-race“?

I did lots of powerman over the world, Zofingen and Weyer in Austria are my best remembers.

How does a typical training week looks like in your preparation for a Powerman race (apr. 2 month proir to the race)?
Preparation is crucial and must be comprehensive for a Powerman. You need endurance training and specific intensity training. For example, a typical training session two weeks prior to your goal looks like a brick session with 1st run 50 minutes aerobic, bike 2,5 hours with  3*20 min race average, 2nd run with 3*10 min race pace followed by 30 min easy biking.

Despite the current uncertainties of racing in 2021, do you have a competiton schedule in mind?
In 2021, I would like to participate French short race with my HAC triathlon team. Moreover, I will do two mid-distance triathlons. And I start dog cross races soon with my young dog. His name is RUN.

Last but not least: What are your best advices for athletes who want to participate in a Powerman race?
If you participate in Powerman Alsdorf, be there in good shape. It it is flat and fast race. It will be an unforgettable moment. See you soon.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and insights with us! We wish you the best for your individual and athletic goals.
We are excited to see you racing in Alsdorf on August 15th, 2021.
