POWERMAN Würselen: A New Autumn Challenge on the 2026 Duathlon Calendar

POWERMAN Würselen: A New Autumn Challenge on the 2026 Duathlon Calendar

With the 2026 duathlon season moving towards its final months, athletes searching for one more opportunity to race may want to turn their attention to Würselen, Germany.

On 11 October 2026, POWERMAN Würselen will welcome athletes for a full day of Run–Bike–Run racing in the Aachen region. As one of the newer additions to the POWERMAN calendar, the event may have gone unnoticed by some athletes but it is shaping up to be an exciting late-season destination.

Based around the Aquana Aquatic Center, POWERMAN Würselen will offer a race environment designed for competitive athletes, age-group participants and those taking their first steps into duathlon.

Championship Racing Comes to Würselen

One of the main highlights of the event will be the German Short-Distance Duathlon Championships. Athletes will compete across a challenging format consisting of:

10 km Run – 40 km Bike – 5 km Run

The championship race is expected to attract strong competition from across Germany, with athletes racing for national honours and the opportunity to close their season with an important result. The same distance will also be offered as an open race, giving more athletes the chance to experience the POWERMAN Würselen course and atmosphere without entering the national championship category.

A Sprint Option for a Faster Challenge

POWERMAN Würselen will also feature a Sprint Distance for athletes who prefer a shorter and faster race format.

The Sprint Distance will consist of:

5 km Run – 20 km Bike – 5 km Run

The category offers an accessible entry point for athletes who are newer to duathlon, while still providing an intense challenge for experienced racers looking to test their speed.

Whether racing the short-distance format or taking on the Sprint Distance, participants will need to manage their pace carefully across all three disciplines. A strong first run must be balanced with an efficient bike leg, while the final run will test how well each athlete has controlled their effort throughout the race.

A New POWERMAN Experience in the Aachen Region

The arrival of POWERMAN Würselen further strengthens the Aachen region’s connection with international duathlon. The region is already familiar to the POWERMAN community through POWERMAN Alsdorf. Adding Würselen to the calendar gives athletes another opportunity to race in an area that continues to support and develop the sport.

Würselen’s location near the borders of Belgium and the Netherlands may also make it an attractive option for athletes travelling from neighbouring European countries. For international participants, the event offers more than a race. It is also an opportunity to discover a new German destination while becoming part of the first chapters of POWERMAN Würselen.

One More Race Before the Season Ends

Taking place in October, POWERMAN Würselen could be the ideal final target for athletes who are not yet ready to end their 2026 racing season. The autumn timing provides athletes with additional weeks to train, recover from earlier races and prepare for one final Run–Bike–Run challenge.

For some, the race may be an opportunity to achieve a personal best. For others, it may be about completing a first duathlon, competing for a national title or simply sharing another POWERMAN experience with the international community. Whatever the goal, POWERMAN Würselen offers athletes another finish line worth working towards.

Registration Is Open
