Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in POWERMAN Malaysia events (“Event”) and the use of related services, websites, registration platforms, Event facilities, and Event activities.

By registering for or participating in the Event, the Participant acknowledges and confirms that they have read, understood, accepted, and agreed to be bound by these Terms, together with all applicable Event rules, technical regulations, Race Guide requirements, policies, procedures, and official instructions issued in connection with the Event.

1. Definitions

1.1 “International POWERMAN Association” or “IPA” refers to the International POWERMAN Association, the international governing and licensing body responsible for the POWERMAN brand and applicable international POWERMAN policies.

1.2 “Organiser” refers to POWERMAN Malaysia and, where applicable, its appointed local event organiser, authorised representatives, contractors, partners, service providers, technical officials, sanctioning bodies, and other parties officially appointed to support the delivery and administration of the Event.

1.3 “Participant” refers to any individual who registers for, attends, enters, or participates in the Event.

1.4 “Event” refers to POWERMAN Malaysia races, POWERKIDS, expos, Race Pack Collection, bike check-in, briefings, ceremonies, official programmes, side activities, and all other related Event activities.

1.5 “Race Guide” refers to any official participant guide, technical guide, Event guide, schedule, race information document, or supplementary instruction issued by the Organiser.


2. Eligibility & Registration

2.1 Participation is subject to meeting all minimum age, category, eligibility, qualification, identification, documentation, health, and other requirements published by the Organiser.

2.2 Registration is deemed complete only upon:

  • Accurate submission of all required registration information;

  • Acceptance of these Terms and all applicable Event policies;

  • Full payment of all applicable registration fees and charges; and

  • Issuance of an official registration confirmation, race bib number, participant identification number, or other confirmation determined by the Organiser.

2.3 Participants are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted during registration is complete, true, accurate, and up to date.

2.4 Providing false, misleading, incomplete, duplicated, or fraudulent registration information may result in suspension, cancellation, or disqualification.

2.5 The Organiser reserves the right to refuse, suspend, cancel, or invalidate a registration where reasonably necessary for:

  • Event administration;

  • Participant safety;

  • Eligibility verification;

  • Compliance with Event rules;

  • Fraud prevention;

  • Suspected misuse;

  • Unauthorised registration activity;

  • Breach of these Terms; or

  • Other legitimate operational or regulatory reasons.

2.6 A Participant whose registration has been cancelled due to a breach of these Terms or applicable Event rules shall not automatically be entitled to a refund, deferment, credit, compensation, or transfer.



3. Registration Fees, Refunds, Deferments & Transfers

3.1 Non-Refundable Registration

All registration fees, administrative charges, processing fees, platform fees, taxes, and related charges are strictly non-refundable, except where expressly confirmed otherwise in writing by the Organiser or where required by applicable law.

3.2 No Refund Due to Personal Circumstances

No refund shall be provided due to circumstances including, but not limited to:

  • Failure to attend the Event;

  • Failure to start or complete the Event;

  • Did Not Start (DNS);

  • Did Not Finish (DNF);

  • Disqualification;

  • Injury;

  • Illness;

  • Medical condition;

  • Insufficient training;

  • Pregnancy;

  • Travel disruption;

  • Visa issues;

  • Flight cancellation or delay;

  • Accommodation problems;

  • Transportation problems;

  • Work commitments;

  • Family commitments;

  • Personal circumstances;

  • Scheduling conflicts;

  • Change of mind;

  • Failure to meet eligibility requirements;

  • Failure to provide required identification or documentation;

  • Failure to complete Race Pack Collection;

  • Failure to complete compulsory bike check-in;

  • Failure to comply with Event instructions;

  • Event modification;

  • Operational changes;

  • Course changes;

  • Schedule changes;

  • Weather;

  • Haze;

  • Air quality;

  • Government directives;

  • Safety considerations;

  • Force majeure circumstances; or

  • Any circumstances beyond the Organiser’s reasonable control.

3.3 Deferment Strictly Prohibited by IPA

Deferment is strictly prohibited under International POWERMAN Association (IPA) policy.

A registration cannot be:

  • Deferred;

  • Postponed;

  • Rolled over;

  • Carried forward;

  • Reserved;

  • Credited;

  • Reallocated; or

  • Transferred to any future edition, future year, or other POWERMAN Event.

This prohibition applies regardless of the reason why a Participant is unable to participate.

3.4 No Authority to Grant Individual Deferments

POWERMAN Malaysia, the appointed local event organiser, employees, volunteers, contractors, registration providers, agents, or other representatives do not have authority to approve or grant an individual deferment contrary to IPA policy.

No verbal statement, informal message, correspondence, representation, assurance, or communication shall constitute approval of a deferment unless expressly authorised in writing by the International POWERMAN Association.

3.5 Registration Transfers

A transfer to another Participant is separate from a deferment.

Registration transfers are only permitted where an official transfer process has been expressly published and authorised by the Organiser.

3.6 Transfer Requirements

Where transfers are permitted, the transfer must:

  • Be completed through the official transfer procedure;

  • Be completed before the published transfer deadline;

  • Comply with all applicable eligibility requirements;

  • Comply with applicable category requirements;

  • Be subject to the applicable administrative or transfer fee; and

  • Receive official confirmation from the Organiser.

3.7 A transfer shall not be considered valid until it has been officially processed and confirmed by the Organiser.

3.8 An authorised transfer to another Participant does not constitute a deferment and does not permit a registration to be transferred, credited, or carried forward to a future Event.

3.9 Private sale, exchange, assignment, sharing, resale, or unauthorised transfer of a registration or race bib is strictly prohibited.

3.10 Any Participant found using another person’s race bib or permitting another person to use their race bib without official authorisation may be removed or disqualified.

3.11 Participants are responsible for reviewing the latest official registration, transfer, refund, and participation policies applicable to their Event.


4. Race Rules & Participant Conduct

4.1 Participants must comply with all:

  • Official Event rules;

  • Technical regulations;

  • Competition regulations;

  • Safety procedures;

  • Course regulations;

  • Transition rules;

  • Race procedures;

  • Race Guide instructions; and

  • Directions issued by authorised Event personnel.

4.2 Participants must comply with instructions issued by:

  • The Organiser;

  • IPA representatives;

  • Sanctioning bodies;

  • Race officials;

  • Technical officials;

  • Medical personnel;

  • Security personnel;

  • Marshals;

  • Government authorities; and

  • Other authorised Event personnel.

4.3 Race bibs and registrations are personal to the registered Participant unless an official transfer has been approved and completed.

4.4 Bib swapping, duplication, copying, alteration, falsification, unauthorised sale, resale, sharing, or use by another individual is prohibited.

4.5 Participants must correctly wear or display their:

  • Race bib;

  • Timing device;

  • Identification;

  • Wristband;

  • Accreditation; and

  • Other required Event credentials.

4.6 The Organiser reserves the right to stop, remove, withdraw, or disqualify any Participant who:

  • Is medically unable to continue;

  • Is physically unable to continue;

  • Fails to comply with Event rules;

  • Misses applicable cut-off times;

  • Behaves dangerously;

  • Behaves abusively or inappropriately;

  • Interferes with another Participant;

  • Endangers themselves or another person;

  • Uses unauthorised equipment;

  • Fails to follow instructions; or

  • Otherwise breaches these Terms or applicable Event rules.



5. Race Pack Collection & Identification

5.1 Participants must comply with all official Race Pack Collection requirements, procedures, and collection schedules.

5.2 Participants may be required to present:

  • Valid identification;

  • Passport;

  • MyKad;

  • MyKid;

  • Registration confirmation;

  • Confirmation slip;

  • QR code;

  • Digital identification;

  • Facial verification;

  • eKYC verification; or

  • Any other document or verification required by the Organiser.

5.3 Collection on behalf of another Participant is not permitted unless expressly authorised by the Organiser under a specific published exception.

5.4 Any exception remains subject to the documentation and verification requirements specified by the Organiser.

5.5 Failure to complete Race Pack Collection within the applicable period may result in the Participant being unable to participate.

5.6 Failure to collect a Race Pack does not create any entitlement to a refund, deferment, credit, compensation, or future Event entry.


6. Bike Check-In

6.1 Where bike check-in is compulsory, Participants must complete bike check-in within the period published by the Organiser.

6.2 Failure to complete compulsory bike check-in may result in the Participant being prohibited from starting the race.

6.3 Participants are responsible for ensuring that their bicycle, helmet, equipment, and accessories comply with all applicable technical and safety regulations.

6.4 The Organiser, technical officials, sanctioning body, or authorised Event personnel may inspect equipment.

6.5 Equipment may be rejected where it is considered:

  • Unsafe;

  • Damaged;

  • Technically non-compliant;

  • Improperly prepared; or

  • Unsuitable for Event participation.

6.6 Failure to pass bike check-in or technical inspection shall not create any entitlement to a refund, deferment, credit, or compensation.


7. Cut-Off Times, Timing & Results

7.1 Official cut-off times shall apply to all applicable race categories.

7.2 Participants failing to meet an applicable cut-off time may be:

  • Stopped;

  • Withdrawn;

  • Removed from the course; or

  • Classified as Did Not Finish (DNF).

7.3 Participants must immediately comply with any instruction requiring them to stop racing, leave the race course, enter a support vehicle, or return to the Event venue.

7.4 Race timing and results shall be determined according to the official timing system and applicable Event rules.

7.5 Where applicable, results may be determined using gun time, net time, chip time, or another official timing method as specified in the Race Guide or technical rules.

7.6 The Organiser reserves the right to review, correct, amend, suspend, or invalidate results where necessary due to:

  • Timing errors;

  • Technical issues;

  • Equipment malfunction;

  • Incorrect participant data;

  • Rule violations;

  • Course violations;

  • Missed timing points;

  • Penalties;

  • Disqualification;

  • Fraud;

  • Misconduct; or

  • Other legitimate race administration reasons.

7.7 Official results may remain provisional until final verification has been completed.


8. Health, Fitness & Medical Responsibility

8.1 Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are medically fit, adequately trained, and physically capable of participating in the Event.

8.2 Participation in endurance sport places physical demands upon the body. Participants should obtain appropriate medical advice before participating where necessary.

8.3 Participation is undertaken at the Participant’s own risk, subject to applicable law.

8.4 The Organiser does not provide individual personal medical, accident, health, travel, or life insurance unless expressly stated otherwise.

8.5 Participants consent to receiving emergency first aid, medical treatment, transportation, or other medical assistance where reasonably considered necessary.

8.6 Any ambulance, hospital, medical, evacuation, transportation, specialist treatment, medication, or other related cost not specifically covered by the Event remains the responsibility of the Participant.

8.7 The Organiser, medical personnel, technical officials, or authorised Event personnel may prevent a Participant from starting, continuing, or completing the Event where there are reasonable health or safety concerns.

8.8 A medical withdrawal does not create an entitlement to a refund or deferment.


9. Assumption of Risk

9.1 Participants acknowledge that running, cycling, duathlon, multisport, and endurance activities involve inherent and unavoidable risks.

Such risks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Falls;

  • Collisions;

  • Road hazards;

  • Uneven surfaces;

  • Vehicle interaction;

  • Equipment failure;

  • Mechanical failure;

  • Physical injury;

  • Illness;

  • Heat;

  • Heat-related illness;

  • Dehydration;

  • Exhaustion;

  • Adverse weather;

  • Lightning;

  • Heavy rain;

  • Flooding;

  • Haze;

  • Poor air quality;

  • Reduced visibility;

  • Fatigue;

  • Permanent injury;

  • Permanent disability; and

  • Death.

9.2 Participants acknowledge and voluntarily accept the ordinary and inherent risks associated with participation in the Event.

9.3 Participants are responsible for exercising reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others.


10. Liability

10.1 To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Organiser, IPA, POWERMAN Malaysia, Event partners, contractors, service providers, officials, employees, representatives, and authorised parties shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, expense, delay, inconvenience, or claim arising from or connected with participation in the Event, except to the extent that such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

10.2 Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or limit liability where such exclusion, restriction, or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

10.3 Participants remain responsible for any loss or damage caused by their own negligent, reckless, unlawful, or intentional conduct.


11. Personal Property

11.1 Participants remain responsible for their personal property at all times.

This includes, without limitation:

  • Bicycles;

  • Helmets;

  • Shoes;

  • Equipment;

  • Mobile phones;

  • Watches;

  • Bags;

  • Clothing;

  • Documents;

  • Money;

  • Valuables; and

  • Other belongings.

11.2 To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Organiser shall not be responsible for property that is lost, stolen, misplaced, damaged, or left unattended.

11.3 Any official bag storage, bicycle storage, equipment storage, or similar service shall remain subject to:

  • Availability;

  • Capacity;

  • Operating hours;

  • Applicable fees;

  • Collection procedures; and

  • Any additional conditions published by the relevant service provider or Organiser.


12. Media, Photography, Filming & Recording

12.1 Participants acknowledge that photography, filming, broadcasting, livestreaming, audio recording, interviews, and other forms of media coverage may take place during the Event.

12.2 Subject to applicable law, Participants grant the Organiser, POWERMAN Malaysia, IPA, and their authorised partners, agencies, media providers, photographers, broadcasters, sponsors, licensees, and representatives permission to use Event-related photographs, video footage, recordings, name, likeness, voice, image, and sporting performance for purposes including:

  • Event promotion;

  • POWERMAN promotion;

  • Marketing;

  • Advertising;

  • Editorial use;

  • Broadcast;

  • Livestreaming;

  • Social media;

  • Public relations;

  • Sponsorship activities;

  • Commercial materials;

  • Event documentation; and

  • Archival purposes.

12.3 Unauthorised photographers, videographers, personal content crews, commercial production teams, or media personnel may be prohibited or restricted from entering controlled Event areas.

Such areas may include:

  • The race course;

  • Transition areas;

  • Start areas;

  • Finish areas;

  • Athlete-only areas;

  • Technical areas;

  • Medical areas;

  • Restricted operational areas; and

  • Other areas identified by the Organiser.

12.4 Media accreditation does not automatically provide unrestricted access to controlled Event areas.


13. Intellectual Property

13.1 POWERMAN names, trademarks, logos, brand elements, designs, graphics, race materials, photographs, documentation, Event content, digital content, marketing materials, and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners and licensors.

13.2 No Participant or third party may reproduce, copy, modify, distribute, publish, licence, sell, commercially exploit, or otherwise use protected Event intellectual property without prior written authorisation from the relevant rights holder.

13.3 Registration for or participation in the Event does not grant the Participant any licence or ownership rights over POWERMAN intellectual property.


14. Personal Data Protection

14.1 Personal data shall be collected, processed, stored, disclosed, and used in accordance with applicable Malaysian data protection requirements and the applicable privacy policy.

14.2 Personal data may be processed where reasonably necessary for purposes including:

  • Registration administration;

  • Identity verification;

  • Participant verification;

  • Event communications;

  • Race administration;

  • Race timing;

  • Results publication;

  • Accreditation;

  • Safety management;

  • Emergency management;

  • Medical response;

  • Photography;

  • Event services;

  • Fraud prevention;

  • Security;

  • Legal compliance;

  • Regulatory compliance;

  • Insurance administration where applicable; and

  • Marketing where permitted.

14.3 Personal data may be shared with authorised parties where reasonably required for Event administration, safety, services, or compliance.

Such parties may include:

  • IPA;

  • Appointed event organisers;

  • Registration platforms;

  • Timing providers;

  • Medical providers;

  • Technical officials;

  • Sanctioning bodies;

  • Contractors;

  • Service providers;

  • Government agencies;

  • Local authorities; and

  • Other authorised parties.

14.4 Certain Participant information, including names, race numbers, nationality, category, timing data, rankings, and results, may be publicly displayed where necessary for legitimate sporting and Event purposes.


15. Event Changes & Operational Modifications

15.1 The Organiser reserves the right to amend Event arrangements where reasonably necessary.

Such amendments may include changes to:

  • Event date;

  • Venue;

  • Start time;

  • Starting wave;

  • Wave allocation;

  • Course;

  • Distance;

  • Race format;

  • Category structure;

  • Cut-off times;

  • Transition arrangements;

  • Race Pack Collection procedures;

  • Bike check-in procedures;

  • Race schedule;

  • Start procedure;

  • Finish procedure;

  • Event programme;

  • Event facilities;

  • Aid stations;

  • Access arrangements;

  • Parking arrangements;

  • Road closures; or

  • Other operational arrangements.

15.2 Changes may be made for reasons including:

  • Safety;

  • Technical requirements;

  • Sporting requirements;

  • Operational requirements;

  • Regulatory requirements;

  • Government instructions;

  • Logistics;

  • Weather;

  • Environmental conditions;

  • Security;

  • Medical considerations; or

  • Other legitimate Event reasons.

15.3 Participants must comply with all revised instructions issued by the Organiser.

15.4 An operational modification does not automatically create any entitlement to a refund, compensation, deferment, credit, or transfer.


16. Cancellation, Suspension, Postponement & Force Majeure

16.1 The Event or any part of the Event may be:

  • Modified;

  • Delayed;

  • Postponed;

  • Shortened;

  • Suspended;

  • Relocated;

  • Interrupted; or

  • Cancelled

where circumstances beyond the Organiser’s reasonable control make such action necessary or advisable.

16.2 Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to:

  • Severe weather;

  • Lightning;

  • Flooding;

  • Haze;

  • Poor air quality;

  • Natural disasters;

  • Public health emergencies;

  • Epidemics;

  • Government directives;

  • Regulatory restrictions;

  • Road closures;

  • Venue restrictions;

  • Security threats;

  • Civil disturbance;

  • Public emergencies;

  • Failure of essential infrastructure;

  • Failure of essential Event services;

  • Acts of God; or

  • Other force majeure circumstances.

16.3 Where appropriate, such decisions may be made in consultation with:

  • Government authorities;

  • Local authorities;

  • IPA;

  • Sanctioning bodies;

  • Technical officials;

  • Medical teams;

  • Emergency services; or

  • Other responsible parties.

16.4 In such circumstances, registration fees shall remain non-refundable unless the Organiser expressly announces otherwise in writing or a refund is required under applicable law.

16.5 IPA Deferment Policy

Deferment to a future edition, year, or POWERMAN Event remains strictly prohibited under International POWERMAN Association policy.

A postponement, cancellation, suspension, relocation, shortening, or modification of the Event does not automatically create any right or entitlement to:

  • A deferment;

  • A rollover;

  • A future Event entry;

  • Registration credit;

  • Registration carry-forward; or

  • Replacement registration.

16.6 POWERMAN Malaysia and the appointed event organiser do not have authority to grant individual deferments contrary to IPA policy unless expressly authorised in writing by the International POWERMAN Association.


17. Weather, Haze & Environmental Conditions

17.1 Participants acknowledge that the Event takes place outdoors and may be affected by changing environmental conditions.

17.2 The Organiser may monitor factors including:

  • Official weather forecasts;

  • Air quality readings;

  • Air Pollutant Index readings;

  • Visibility;

  • Temperature;

  • Heat;

  • Humidity;

  • Lightning;

  • Rain;

  • Flooding;

  • Wind;

  • Haze; and

  • Other environmental conditions.

17.3 The Organiser may modify, delay, shorten, suspend, relocate, or cancel any Event activity where reasonably considered necessary for the safety of Participants, staff, volunteers, officials, spectators, or the public.

17.4 Participants must comply immediately with all instructions and announcements relating to environmental or weather conditions.

17.5 Environmental conditions may vary during the Event, and Participants remain responsible for assessing their individual ability to continue participating.


18. Code of Conduct

18.1 Participants must behave respectfully towards:

  • Race officials;

  • Technical officials;

  • Volunteers;

  • Medical personnel;

  • Event staff;

  • Other Participants;

  • Spectators;

  • Partners;

  • Sponsors;

  • Authorities;

  • Venue personnel; and

  • Members of the public.

18.2 Conduct that may result in penalties, removal, suspension, or disqualification includes:

  • Cheating;

  • Fraud;

  • Abuse;

  • Harassment;

  • Discrimination;

  • Threatening behaviour;

  • Intimidation;

  • Violence;

  • Deliberate rule violations;

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct;

  • Interference with another Participant;

  • Intentional course obstruction;

  • Damage to Event property;

  • Damage to third-party property;

  • Fraudulent registration;

  • Unauthorised bib use;

  • Refusal to comply with safety instructions; or

  • Failure to follow official instructions.


19. Disqualification

19.1 The Organiser, sanctioning body, technical officials, race officials, or other authorised officials may impose penalties or disqualify a Participant for violations of:

  • These Terms;

  • Official Event rules;

  • Technical regulations;

  • Competition regulations;

  • Safety requirements; or

  • Official Event instructions.

19.2 A disqualified Participant shall not be entitled to:

  • A refund;

  • Deferment;

  • Registration credit;

  • Compensation;

  • Replacement entry; or

  • Future Event registration.

19.3 Where appropriate, serious misconduct may also be referred to IPA, the relevant sanctioning body, authorities, or other appropriate organisations.


20. Communications & Official Information

20.1 Participants are responsible for reviewing official Event communications.

20.2 Official information may be communicated through:

  • The official POWERMAN Malaysia website;

  • Official email;

  • Registration platforms;

  • Race Guide;

  • Official social media channels;

  • Participant messaging channels;

  • Race briefings;

  • SMS or messaging services;

  • On-site signage;

  • Public address announcements; or

  • Announcements at the Event venue.

20.3 Participants are responsible for ensuring that their email address, telephone number, and other contact information remain accurate and up to date.

20.4 Participants should rely on information issued through official authorised channels.

20.5 Statements, representations, or information issued by unauthorised individuals shall not override these Terms or official Event policies.


21. Changes to These Terms

21.1 The Organiser may amend or update these Terms where reasonably necessary for:

  • Legal requirements;

  • Regulatory requirements;

  • IPA requirements;

  • Technical requirements;

  • Operational requirements;

  • Safety;

  • Security;

  • Event administration; or

  • Other legitimate Event purposes.

21.2 Updated Terms shall take effect upon publication through an official Organiser channel unless otherwise stated.

21.3 Event-specific instructions, technical regulations, Race Guide provisions, policies, notices, and official communications may supplement these Terms.

21.4 Where supplementary Event instructions are issued, Participants are responsible for complying with those instructions in addition to these Terms.


22. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

22.1 These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.

22.2 Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or participation in the Event shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.


23. Severability

23.1 If any provision of these Terms is determined by a competent authority or court to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall, where possible, be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

23.2 Where such modification is not possible, the relevant provision shall be treated as severed without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.


24. No Waiver

24.1 Failure or delay by the Organiser, POWERMAN Malaysia, or IPA to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

24.2 Any waiver relating to one particular matter shall not constitute a continuing waiver or prevent enforcement in relation to any subsequent matter.


25. Acceptance
By registering for or participating in POWERMAN Malaysia, the Participant confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions in full.
